Are you coming to Belgium or returning after a stay of more than 48 hours in a red zone?
You are obliged to comply with the following rules from January 2021 onwards:
If you are not a Belgian resident (i.e. you do not have a Belgian ID card) you are obliged:
- to prove you have tested negative for Covid-19 in the country that you are coming from. You must have taken the test no more than 72 hours before your departure and it must have been a PCR test analysed by an accredited laboratory and certified by a physician. The document containing the result of the test needs to be translated into English, French, German or Dutch.
- to fill in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) 48 hours before coming to Belgium. You will receive confirmation by mail, which you have to keep as proof of filling in the form. Later, you will receive an SMS with further information about quarantine and a code that will enable you to get a Covid-19 test in Belgium.
- To fill ‘statement of honour’ document before coming to Belgium where you declare the reason of your travel. Keep this document with you throughout your journey.
- to go into quarantine as soon as you arrive in Belgium, for 7 days from the date of arrival.
- to get tested on the 7th day after the date of arrival.
- If the test on the 7th day is negative, you may leave quarantine.
- If the test is positive, you must go into self-isolation and follow your doctor’s orders.
