Do you work as a temporary worker in the construction? Then you can already look forward to the recuperation days during the Christmas period. But what do you need to know about the payment of the recuperation days?
Construciv (the fund that takes care of the social advantages of the construction workers) determines the rules concerning the payment of the recuperation days in December 2020. This year we received these guidelines concerning the temporary workers, see below:
- A temporary worker who works in construction is entitled to the payment for the main period of the recuperation days in construction in 2020 (21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st of December 2020) if he/she was in one of the following situations on Friday December 18th, 2020:
- effectively worked as a temporary worker in construction;
- not effectively worked as a temporary worker in construction due to temporary unemployment ‘bad weather’ or due to sickness.
- Temporary workers who didn’t work on Friday the 18th of December 2020 due to temporary unemployment force majeure, who were on leave or who were absent for another reason, are not entitled for the payment of the recuperations days through Constructiv.
The certificates for the payment of this main period will be made up and sent by Constructiv at the earliest at the end of January/beginning of February 2021. Then you can bring this document to your union or relief fund and the payment will be proceeded through them.
